Tips For Choosing The Best Cigar Lighter

For smokers, choosing the right cigar lighter is very important.  If it has a weak flame, you will not be able to get a decent smoke from your cigar.  This is why it is important to find cigar lighters that are made with the best materials.  Otherwise, you might as well buy a Bic from your local grocery store, as inferior cigar lighters are not much better.  Try not to do this to yourself.  Instead, consider investing a little extra money into a specialty lighter.  It is functional and more luxurious than anything else on the market. Why Specialty Lighters are Better

Specialty lighters are perfect for experienced cigar smokers, especially during a night out.  You do not want to ruin your outing trying to light your cigar every five minutes.  Not only is it annoying for you, but it is also troublesome for those accompanying you.  However, if you use traditional cigars you may encounter this problem, as their lighting requires a special technique.  If you are not good with this technique, it may take you awhile before you can initiate a flame.  With specialty lighters, this is not a problem as they are much easier to use.  Their design also ensures a proper burning throughout the whole time you smoke.  As a result, your cigar will maintain both its flame and its taste for very long periods of time.

Still, keep in mind that even among specialty lighters, not everything is the same.  Most smokers realize this, which is why they tend to stick with handheld lighters with torches.  These offer the best flame because they utilize propane or butane for their fuel.  Other lighters might use something different, which results in a weaker flame.  In fact, sometimes these flames are so weak, they actually blow in the wind.  Windproof propane or butane lighters never do this.  Once they are lit, their flame lasts indefinitely.

Of course, even among propane or butane lighters, there are some differences.  Many smokers prefer butane because it burns quickly and maintains a hotter flame.  However, the fuel for butane tends to run out faster.  If this is a problem, you may want to stick with a propane cigar lighter.  The flame will be slightly weaker, but you will not have to refill as often.  This makes propane lighters a great choice when you are in situations where constant refilling would be cumbersome.

As far as purchasing, propane or butane cigar lighters can be found all across the country.  Also, if you would like to personalize your lighter, there are companies that offer engraving services.  Combine this with any unique design the lighter might already have and you will be smoking in style.
